Mastering Self-Control: Harnessing Your Inner Power to Protect Your Energy

Your energy is a reflection of how well your body and mind are functioning. It plays a vital role in your overall well-being and can greatly impact your daily life. Therefore, it is essential to protect and nurture your energy to promote optimal health and happiness. In this blog post, we will explore various ways you can protect your energy and maintain a healthy mind and body.


1. Empowering Self-Control

A situation that most of us can relate to is trying to maintain our calm while driving. When someone cuts you off or tries to provoke you on the road, it's easy to feel your heart start racing and take their actions personally. However, it's important to remember that other people's actions are something we can not control.  We can only control our own.


Tip : Try taking long, slow breaths, breathing in through your nose and out through your mouth. Inhale for a count of 4, hold for 2, and exhale for 6. Repeat this breathing pattern for a minute or two until you feel your body start to relax. Deep breathing increases oxygen flow which provides a sense of clarity and focus. It also releases relaxation hormones like endorphins that improve your mood. With each exhale, imagine the stress leaving your body. Deep breathing is one of the fastest ways to shift yourself out of reactive mode and into a state of composure.

2. Recognizing and Dealing with Energy Drainers


Have you ever heard of the term "Sacred Rage"? It refers to the activation of vital energies within us to protect us from conscious or unconscious threats. However, be aware that some people may be using your sacred rage for their own benefit. As explained in the book The Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield, at certain times humanity has seen itself as disconnected from the universal dynamic energy.  While experiencing this deficit we increased our personal energy by unconsciously stealing from other. Redfield identifies four behavior patterns that people use to influence others. These four patterns are known as Control Dramas: The Victim; The Aloof; The Inquisitor; The Bully. Staying vigilant of those who drain your energy is important but mastering self control is really the only solution.


3. Set Healthy Boundaries


Protecting your energy also involves setting proper boundaries. Once you are able to recognize the pattern or trigger that generate a unwanted reaction, you will then know what boundaries to set. Pay attention to the people and situations that consistently drain your energy. These may be individuals who deliberately provoke you or take advantage of your kindness. By identifying these energy-draining elements, you can establish healthy boundaries to safeguard your well-being. The Victim: Show empathy but maintain boundaries. Encourage them to seek professional help if needed.


The Aloof: Encourage communication and ask open-ended questions to foster connection.


The Interrogators:  Be honest, set limits, and ask them why they feel the need to question everything.


The Intimidators: Stay calm, assert your boundaries, and seek to understand without becoming a target.

4. Embrace Spiritual Practices


Engaging in spiritual practices can be highly effective in protecting your energy. Meditation, visualization, and mindfulness exercises can help you cleanse and recharge your energy field. Additionally, you may find solace in using crystals, candles, or other tools that resonate with you. Explore different spiritual practices and incorporate those that resonate with your energy.

5. Self-Care and Self-Love


Taking care of yourself is essential for maintaining a healthy energy field. Engage in activities that bring you joy and relaxation. Prioritize self-care rituals such as practicing regular exercise, getting adequate sleep, nourishing your body with healthy food, and spending quality time with loved ones. By prioritizing self-love, you reinforce your energy, making it less susceptible to external negativity.

6. Trust Your Intuition


Your intuition is a valuable guide in protecting your energy. Listen to your gut feelings and pay attention to any signs or signals from the universe. Your intuition can help you discern who and what serves your highest good, enabling you to make choices that protect and nurture your energy.
